Follow-up Friday: 16 February 2018

Another week down, dudes and dudettes. For those of you who have been busy with life, take a look at what you might have missed this last week!

Monday featured the newest chapter of No Name for a Sword, which is coming along swimmingly! I’ve gotten some great feedback from you all, and I’m glad you’re enjoying it. It’s been a blast to write. For those of you who don’t know, No Name for a Sword is an Asian-inspired fantasy written entirely in haiku. If you’d like to check out the first chapter, here it is. If you’re looking for the newest installment, here you go.

Writer Wednesday marked the second video on YouTube as I move from articles to videos. You all seem to enjoy the videos much more, and it’s easier for you all to consume. So, it looks like the move to video was a good call. This Wednesday, I talked at length about writing in the romance genre (in celebration of St. Valentine’s Day). Click here to pop over to YouTube and check that out.

FFS Friday was all about finding hope in hard times. There’s a lot going on in the world, and it can be really hard to dig through all the tragedy constantly bombarding our senses. Luckily, there’s hope out there, and you can latch onto it when things seem their darkest. Remember, you have the ultimate power over yourself. Check out that article here.

A special note on “Today’s Office”. I’ve dropped the ball on Today’s Office for like a couple of weeks now, guys, and I’m deeply sorry about that. I know that a lot of you liked having those daily updates about what I’m getting into a so forth. I will be making a concerted effort to post them every day, but they will only be available to my patrons on Patreon. For as little as $1/month, you can get access to the Patrons-only feed, where you’ll see Today’s Office, monthly special videos, promotions, and giveaways. Check that out right here.

You guysHave missed. So much.

While we remain in Florida (we have about a month left here), we’ve been doing some work on converting the van into our new living space. We’ve made the first touches throughout the last week or so—between work—and it’s been going wonderfully! As of today, we’re about to set down the vinyl flooring, which will be the final bit of flooring we do! It’s such a huge step, y’all! After today, we can move on to setting in the walls and ceiling, installing the ventilation and solar panels, and hooking up the electricity. After all that, it’s nothing more than building the kitchenette and bedframe! Still lots of work to do, but I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished so far.

Huge shoutout to Colin for helping us out throughout the process so far. His expertise and skill have been instrumental in our success, and I don’t think it would have turned out nearly as good without him.

Also mad props to @whiterhinodiary for putting in some seriously hard work on those hot Florida days while I was inside, in the air-conditioning, putting in work on the blog. This is why we’re such an effective team, babe, and I’m so glad to be sharing this experience with you. You remind me daily how dedicated you are to our success, and I couldn’t be prouder of the work you’ve done.

School has basically been an afterthought for the past two weeks as I’ve been pouring my soul into writing. (More on that below.) I’ve been performing very well, so I’ve eased up a bit to give myself some breathing room. Right now, I’m working on not letting perfection get in the way of all the other things I have to do in life.

English Composition II – 97%

Shakespeare – 99%

Devils of Kharashan, Book One – 5% Complete

My Middle Eastern epic fantasy is officially off the ground! I started writing up the first draft last night, and it was a blast. The first chapter had me super excited to finally drop into the world and start exploring the minds of the characters. It’s great fun, and I think you all will really like it when it’s finally released.

My official website is now up! You can check it out right here. It’s basically a nexus for all the stuff I’m up to, all in one convenient place. If you want to keep track of all my social content but you don’t have everything, this is the place to go. You’ll also find a progress tracker for my current projects, helpful links, you’ll get to learn a little about me, and you’ll have access to promotions and giveaways as they become available.

Well, that’s all for this week, my friends. Now, we have to lay down some flooring before I get back to work on Devils later tonight. You are all a blessing, and I love each and every one of you. Have an awesome weekend and remember: have a plan.
